Why we sign you in with passkeys

Passwords get phished. Passkeys can’t be.

Expontra team 4 min read

Every Expontra product signs you in through Expontra ID, and we ask everyone to use a passkey or an authenticator app. Here’s why.

Passwords are reused, guessed and typed into convincing fake pages. A second factor helps, but codes can still be phished.

Passkeys are bound to our site

A passkey is a key pair created on your device. The private key never leaves it, and your device will only use it on the genuine Expontra sign-in page — so a fake page gets nothing.

What you’ll see

You confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. If you prefer, an authenticator app works too, and you keep one-time recovery codes for emergencies.

Sensitive actions ask again

Publishing a product, changing security settings or inviting a team member asks you to confirm it’s you, even when you’re already signed in.
